It Boggles My Mind...

It just boggles my mind when I hear of how different things are in different states. An online friend of mine, who lives in Florida, is in the process of purchasing a home (or looking at least). She had posted some different homes for sale in a city called Titusville. Now, I have NO idea of anything in Titusville, FL, however, when I saw the home prices...I was literally floored! Almost to the point of considering buying a home there and moving East! She had a link to a home in Titusville. 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, 3033 square feet of living space right on a lake going for $269,900!!!! I showed the link to hubby, who had the exact same reaction I did: "We could sell our home, purchase this one and still have money to furnish the entire house!". Here's an example of how different things are here vs. there. A home just listed down the street from us. It's a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath and just under 1500 square feet. It's listed for $373,000! Get the picture?? She also had links of homes listed in the $80-$100K range. Here that would get you a porta potty on an empty lot...lol!

I do realize that the cost of living out here in California is high. Incomes are probably structured different etc., but man oh man! It sure is tempting! Now, if Florida can just do away with Tornados, Hurricanes, Humidity, Thunder and Lightning...I just might consider this...lol!

Being raised in So. California most of my life, and not venturing out of the state (except for Arizona and Nevada for vacations), it's just a way of life. High taxes, high gas prices, high real estate costs are just something you live with because that's the *norm* and you don't know any different....UNTIL you read/hear/talk about stuff like this.
